TWELFTH SUNDAY YEAR A
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This Sunday is the Summer Solstice when we experience the longest day of the year. In Aberdeen there will be 18 hours of sunshine/daylight. In six months, we celebrate the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. Each occasion was a time when many years ago people thought something was going wrong with the universe. There was great relief in Winter when the days began to lengthen. Today we understand the solar system and the universe in better detail. At the same time, we still have much to learn about God and his creation. May we be wise and use his gifts and life and provision for the benefit of all!
